Fjords, mountains & the midnight sun

NORWAY

1 country, 28 days, 3900 km

Norway – a biker's dream come true

To ride in Norway is like riding in a painting. There's beauty everywhere, and it doesn't matter for how long you study it – there's always something new to explore and get spellbound from. Sparkling fjords, foaming waterfalls, high mountains, curvy roads, cute towns and a place safer than your grandmother's lap. The only disadvantage is that Norway is very expensive, but if you're smart you wont get bankrupted by traveling here.

And... It's more than worth it!

favorite towns

& stops

01/

TROMSØ

It feels incredible to see a city in the middle of a nature phenomena as the Norwegian coast is. Here you'll find anything you need, and it's beautiful.

02/

HAUKLAND BEACH, LOFOTEN

You'll think you ended up in The Caribbean with the white sand and turquoise water. Among the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

03/

GLASS VIKTEN, LOFOTEN

A museum and glass factory. The ride out here is great and the place itself is very interesting. A cozy café nearby that used to be the founders home.

04/

GAMLE SKOLA, LOFOTEN

Amazing little café with only home made food, bread and pastries. Don't miss their waffles or cinnamon buns!

05/

TRONDHEIM

Beautiful old city with a great history. Visit Old Town and the bridge, have dinner by the harbour in Solsidan and go and listen to Nidaros Cathedral's bells.

06/

REINE, LOFOTEN

An old fishing village that has been a commercial centre since 1743. Extremely pretty.

07/

ÅLESUND

My favourite city during my whole trip in Norway. The feeling here was just magical. Like a Norwegian Venice. Visit Fjellstua Aksla for an amazing view and Racoon Coffee for a pancake with brunost and a coffee.

08/

BERGEN

A great stop for a more than one night. Take the tram to see the city from above, eat whale stake at the food market or just enjoy a beer at one of the pubs in town. Bergen is beautiful and fun!

The ROUTE

NORTH CAPE – ALTA

E69 + Stokkedalsveien.

ALTA – TROMSØ

Follow the coastal route to Olderdalen, ferry to Lyngseidet. Road 91 (breathtaking views!!) to Svensby and take another ferry to Breivikeidet and 91 + E8 to Tromso.

TROMSØ – LOFOTEN ISLANDS

Explore the islands north of Lofoten or follow E8 + E6. Either way is magical!

LOFOTEN ISLANDS

E10 goes through the whole thing until Å (the last letter in the Norwegian alphabet and also the end of the E10).

LOFOTEN ISLANDS – TRONDHEIM

Ferry to Bodo. You can take the smaller roads over the islands, but be prepared to pay a lot for ferries. I took Fv17 to Mo i Rana and then E6 all the way to Trondheim to save some money here.

TRONDHEIM – BERGEN

Road 64 and The Atlantic Road, then road 63 + E136, stopped in beautiful Ålesund and then road 60 and the ferry from Hellesylt to Geiranger Fjord. Road 63, 15, 55 + E16 to Bergen.

FAVOURITE ROADS

01/

FV51

Right after Jondalstunnelen, take right and just ride this road back and forth. It's worth it.

04/

ØRNESVINGEN, GEIRANGER

A really fun road with a lot of bends, provides with a great view over Geiranger Fjord.

02/

TROLLSTIGEN

The famous pass Trollstigen. A lot of tourists, but it's hella fun to ride!

03/

THE ATLANTIC ROAD

05/

FV55

Fv55 between Fossbergom and Skjolden. My favorite road! A genuine, calm and nice mountain road. No fuss, just you and nature.

Very beautiful road with the famous bridge that bends up in the air. Some say it's more beautiful from above, but I enjoyed the ride a lot.
